Michelle L. Lockard Esq. has been a practicing attorney in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for over 10 years, during which she has handled a tremendous volume of cases. Although amassing vast experience in nearly all areas of the law, Michelle has had a particular emphasis in custody, child support, visitation, paternity, and divorce matters. In fact, Michelle has assisted over a hundred fathers and mothers in the District of Columbia seeking to have a meaningful relationship with their children and obtain custody and shared decision-making power. She has defended parents and third parties in custody, visitation and child support matters. She also handles felony, misdemeanor, traffic matters in Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Michelle also handles appellate cases before the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
Michelle has also provided consultative services for clients seeking to resolve government contract matters involving Contract Disputes Act, request for equitable adjustments, and other claims. Michelle also handles pro bono matters as a volunteer attorney and guardian ad litem through the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project. She also volunteers as a family law mentor with the DC Bar Pro Bono Clinic.
Ms. Lockard is a native Washingtonian. She received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Bowie State University She obtained her Masters of Law in Government Procurement and Environmental Law from George Washington University Law School and Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law. She is currently admitted to the District of Columbia Bar and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
